  20. Welcome to Issue 21 of the Third Dimension disk magazine for 3D 
  21. Construction Kit 1 and 2 users on all computer formats.This 
  22. month's diskmag is the New Year issue.So I would like to take 
  23. this opportunity to wish you all a Prosperous and Happy New Year!

  25.      Because this issue was created over the Christmas period the 
  26. content is not as great as usual because contributions are always 
  27. slow to come in over this period.Even so there are still some 
  28. great items to look at.This month we have a large tutorial on 
  29. using the LOCK MODE function,creating animations from kit objects,
  30. colour remapping,animbrushes/brushanims of kit objects,colour 
  31. mattes plus kit 1 and 2 tutorial step by step games,some funny 
  32. textfiles,a tutorial on recreating actual rooms and buildings,
  33. some Kung Fu sound samples and loads more! 
  34.  
  35. The New Year diskmag editions will see tutorials on some of the 
  36. more difficult aspects of the kits being explained and you will 
  37. be shown how to implement these ideas into your own datafiles and 
  38. routines.These include tutorials on such things as- 
  39. Characters,Strings,Arrays,Advanced sound effects,Brushanim 
  40. effects,Fade effects,Animations,Variables,Triggers and lots more!  
  41. These will all be explained easily and clearly so that they are 
  42. easy to follow.There will also be easier routines and ideas to 
  43. follow.Issue 24 ( our second bithday issue ) will be a 
  44. very special edition that may come on several disks.We may also 
  45. be starting up a new idea in the New Year.The best 3D kit games 
  46. will be appearing (with the authors permission) on a new series 
  47. of disks entitled 'Third Dimension Gold'.These will probably be 
  48. advertised at 2.99 each and will be full games.The author will 
  49. receive half this amount for each disk sold and all the disks 
  50. will appear in any adverts that we take out with computer mags.

  53. If you are new to this diskmag then please note that you need 
  54. either 3D Construction kit 1 or 2 to be able to view the 
  55. datafiles on this disk.Details of where to get this is mentioned
  56. further below.To see what can be achieved why not purchase one of 
  57. the many disks shown in the PD library section that are available 
  58. for all computer formats.Alternatively,try the Amiga-VR-PIANO,
  59. VR-CITY,VR-DRUMS disk available from most good Amiga PD libraries 
  60. and the Third Dimension PD library.

  62. Yet more members have approached me on the subject of a get- 
  63. together for kit users.If you like this idea of a central place 
  64. to swap and show your ideas and to put a face to the many members 
  65. then please let me know.

  67. The OUR-TOWN datafile now has an accompanying textfile (as well 
  68. as the our-town.txt) called OUR-TALES.TXT.This provides you with 
  69. stories about what actually happens there.The town has also 
  70. expanded yet again and now has a festive feel to it.Take a look 
  71. and if you haven't sent a building or object in yet,then have a go!

  74. You should have at the very least,version 2.09 of 3D kit 2 for 
  75. the Atari and Amiga.PC users should have version 2.11.To find out 
  76. your kit version,load up kit 2 then look in the ABOUT pull down

  78. providing that you send a SSAE and your old kit disk.Mandy can

  97. So you have got kit 1 and/or 2 and you are still having some 
  98. problems with certain parts of the kit.You would also prefer it 
  99. if your problem could be solved with a datafile example and an 
  100. explanation in easy steps to show how it's done.You also don't 
  101. want your name mentioned for fear that you may not quite be as 
  102. proficient with using the kits as other members.What can you do?
  103. Easy! fill in the questionnaire (found on this disk) and post 
  104. it to the Third Dimension! You don't need to add your name and 
  105. your problem will hopefully be solved for the next issue!
